Otar Shamugia meets the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey Vahit Kirişci in Berlin

During the meeting with his Turkish Counterpart, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr. Otar Shamugia discussed the prospects for agricultural development across the country.

Mr. Kirisci emphasized that Turkey and Georgia have not only neighborly but also friendly relations, which contributes to the deepening of cooperation in a wide range of areas, including trade relations.

As mentioned by Mr. Shamugia, Turkey is one of its most important partners for Georgia, and the free trade agreement with Turkey fostered this partnership even more, noting that trade turnover between the countries is increasing.

‘’Our task is to make Georgia a net exporter country. The state assists farmers in a variety of directions to promote the production of high-quality agro-food products," stated Mr.  Shamugia.

As stated by the sides, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, in collaboration with the Turkish side, completed work on the project Memorandums of Understanding to expand bilateral cooperation in the fishing and forestry fields, which would be beneficial for both countries.
