The Ministry hosted the Steering Committee meeting of the Project “FinExCoop Georgia”.

The Steering Committee of the project “Finance & Extension & Cooperative Development for Georgian Farmers (FinExCoop Georgia)” held the fifth meeting at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.

The parties summed up the results of the 2nd phase of the project and discussed activities planned for the 3rd phase at the meeting organized jointly by the EU delegation in Georgia and the French Development Agency (AFD).

The  Project ‘’FinExCoop Georgia’’ aims at improving access to finance and agricultural extension services for small farms and cooperatives in Georgia.

''Important efforts have been made toward analyzing the existing situation in terms of finance, extension services, and agricultural cooperatives, including identifying future needs, and planning and implementing future actions.
I would like to express my gratitude to the European Union, the French Development Agency, the donors, the implementers, and all those involved in this process. I believe that similar projects foster the development of the agricultural sector of Georgia and enable us to share information and experiences from our friendly countries," said Mr. George Khanishvili, the First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.

The representatives of the EU delegation to Georgia, the French Development Agency (AFD), relevant departments of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, the Rural Development Agency, and the "FinExCoop Georgia" project attended the meeting.

Within the framework of the Neighborhood Investment Facility (NIF), the project "FinExCoop Georgia" is financed by the European Union and the French Development Agency (AFD).
