"In the background of climate change, the water resources management, as well as implementing reforms in the mentioned area, is of utmost importance for the country. The Law on ''Water Resources Management'' was adopted last year and will enter into force in 2026. Therefore, the state needs to take crucial actions in the respective area.  Moreover, this is one of the first laws that envisage the involvement of local authorities in the decision-making process at the municipality level since local officials are well acquainted with the problems in the region. The role of municipalities is fundamental and significant in the mentioned process", said Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili.

The forum was held within the framework of the project – “Implementation of the Law on the Water Resources Management and Promotion of Awareness in the Municipalities of Georgia”, which is implemented jointly with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Economic Governance Program and the NGO “Environment and Development”.
