The issues related to the forest restoration and care was discussed at the meeting

The project "Global Forest Watch" (GFW) National Supervisory / Advisory Board meeting was held at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, which was  headed by the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Solomon Pavliashvili.
At the meeting, the participants have been focused on the forest policy and strategy, planned and priority activities, as well as expected outcomes. The representatives of the project discussed issues related to the "Forest and Land Use Information Decision Support” (FLUIDS) system, current and planned events and existing challenges faced by the sector. The discussions included an establishment of a forest management inventory system, forest maintenance and restoration works, activities for the fulfilment of UNFCCC / NCD obligations and status of national forest inventory.
The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Solomon Pavliashvili, representatives of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), World Resources Institute (WRI), Environmental NGOs and academic field attended the meeting.
