Meeting with the residents of Dmanisi Municipality
The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Solomon Pavliashvili along with the Governor of Kvemo Kartli region, Shota Rekhviashvili and Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Lia Gigauri held meetings with the residents of Gantiadi, Javakhi and Shindlar villages in Dmanisi Municipality.
At the meeting, local residents outlined their needs and requirements. The conversations touched upon the implementation of infrastructure projects, arrangement and rehabilitation of drinking and irrigation water systems, renovation of educational / learning spaces and access to health care / service. The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture provided locals with the information on rural and agricultural development projects implemented by the Ministry.
“ It is worth mentioning, that , there is a great potential for the development of livestock, beekeeping, bio-production etc.. in Dmanisi municipality . Georgian Government has been implementing a number of projects to support agricultural development in the country. However, to increase the number of beneficiaries, get them engaged in these projects, furthermore, more citizens to benefit from these programs and local residents to join agricultural cooperatives, consolidate fragmented land plots, start business-oriented production and increase revenue is of utmost importance for us.” Solomon Pavliashvili said.
The representatives of government raised awareness of the residents on the planned projects that will be implemented in the region within the current year, including arrangement of road infrastructure, construction and rehabilitation of outpatient clinics, emergency medical centers, repair of school buildings, implementation of a number of projects and disaster prevention activities to be implemented under the Rural Support Program.
As was mentioned, 118 projects amounting to 19 376 676 GEL are planned to be implemented in Dmanisi municipality this year. Moreover, central and local government will hold similar meetings with the residents of the region in the future as well. The representatives of the legislative body attended the meetings in the villages of Dmanisi Municipality.
