Levan Davitashvili got acquainted with RMG production process
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili visited Kazreti, where he got familier with the companies’ RMG Copper and RMG Gold production process. At the meeting, the representatives of the companies addressed to some of the most pressing environmental issues, the Minister got acquinted with the environmental action plan formulated by the company.
"Employees of the different agencies of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture expressed their interest in RMG's activities. In 2015-2016 a number of violations were identified in several directions. We have discussed these violations and the ways to make them correct. We wished to see critical points, problems and rapair mechanisms developed by the company, also a solution made within a reasonable time frame, that we will further discuss with experts "- Levan Davitashvili said.
According to the executive director of the company, Joni Shubitidze, RMG has developed an environmental action plan together with the international company Golder Associates.
Levan Davitashvili along with the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Nino Tandilashvili, Head of the Environmental Supervision Service, Irakli Mukniashvili and representatives of other agencies of the Ministry attended the event.
