Minister paid a visit to Thailand

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili  held a meeting with Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
Dr. Shamshad Akhtar thanked Levan Davitashvili for active involvement in the 5th Forum of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and expressed hope that Georgia as a regional hub for Europe and Asia will use
the UN ESCAP platform to further deepen political and economic relations in Asia-Pacific countries. According to the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, the next UN ESCAP Regional sub-committee meeting will be held in Tbilisi.
As the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Giorgi Sharvashidze stated at the meeting, Georgia is ready to host UN ESAP Executive Secretary Dr. Shamshad Akhtar in July, under the frame of the Open Governance Forum.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Giorgi Sharvashidze and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to India, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh Archil Dzuliashvili together with Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili attended the meeting.
Levan Davitashvili chaired the 5th Forum of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission (ESCAP) on 28-30 March in Bangkok, capital of the Kingdom of Thailand, which will be closed today.
About 600 representatives from the UN ESCAP member states, international organizations and NGOs are involved in the forum- with the main focus on sustainable development goal and future plans for enhancing global cooperation.
