Levan Davitashvili: " This year we expect a successful grape harvest season, thereby, positive trends achieved in recent years will be further maintained "

“This year, the grape harvest coordination center carries out its activities in a well organized manner, providing mobilization of human and technical resources. Moreover, the National Wine Agency engaged in the grape vintage process, is implementing activities to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in the organization, harvesting and traceability processes. All grapes (per kilogram) delivered to the enterprises will be recorded, which is an essential component for traceability and quality control of wine.

The process of delivering grapes is carried out in an increasingly coordinated and timely manner, so that farmers will not face any problems in this regard. However, as for the price of grapes, the representatives of some opposition forces spread false information deliberately to deceive the population.
Although, despite negative expectations of wine producers, raising the issue of a possible delay in the sale of grapes in the Russian market, we are doing our best, not to decrease and maintain the price for Rkatsiteli grape as 70 tetri. It should be noted, that in different micro-zones, due to the quality of grapes, the price is even higher. As for Kakhetsian Greens, the price starts from 90 tetri. In the case of Saperavi grapes, the price amounts to 1.5-1.7 GEL, although in specific micro-zones the quality is 1.85-2 GEL.

The agricultural cycle includes activities related to the growth and harvest of a crop, therefore, in the context of harvesting, political statements and speculations are unacceptable for us. In 2019, we expect a successful grape harvest season, thereby, positive trends achieved in recent years will be further maintained "”said the candidate for the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili at the joint sitting of the parliamentary committee.
