Georgian Honey received a high estimation at the exhibition ‘’Apimondia’’ 2019 in Canada

Under the support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, for the first time, Georgian honey producers were provided with an opportunity to present their products to the representatives and visitors from over 80 countries at the largest fair, ‘’Apimondia 2019’’ International Apicultural Congress held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This year, the importance of beekeeping in the development of agriculture as the main theme was put forward at the 46th Exhibition.

The Apimondia 2019 Exhibition is dedicated to the cutting-edge technologies driving the beekeeping field, allowing producers to share scientific knowledge and experience.
Honey samples presented by ‘’West Georgia’s Beekeepers' Alliance’’, ‘’Georgian Traditional Winemaking’’, ‘’Nena’’ and ‘’Mercy Corps’’ received a high estimation from field specialists and exhibitors.

Under the frame of the exhibition, the 46th Apimondia International Apicultural Congress and Symposium was held in Montreal. The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Khatia Tsilosani attended the event.
7 thematic groups were created at the symposium, including,  Combat the disease; A new reality emerging due to climate change; News that demonstrate compliance with relevant international standards; The role of beekeeping in rural development; The importance of the bee and its products in medicine; Genetic improvement of bees; Impact of pesticides on bees.

 “Members of the Georgian delegation together with the world's leading specialists were provided with an opportunity to discuss challenges facing the beekeeping field worldwide. At the exhibition, the researchers shared the latest scientific breakthroughs, including the introduction of modern technologies. We are very proud, that Georgian products were presented at this scale of exhibition for the first time.
The participating companies had an opportunity to present Georgian honey with its unique features to the world and at the same time, get information on the innovations that will enable Georgian honey to establish a market position and gain a worldwide reputation on the international market ”Khatia Tsilosani said.

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Khatia Tsilosani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Canada, Konstantine Kavtaradze and representatives of Georgian honey producing companies attended the events in Montreal.
