Levan Davitashvili hosted the Newly Appointed Ambassador of France

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili held an introductory meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of France to Georgia, Diego Colas.

The Minister congratulated Diego Colas on the start of his diplomatic mission and wished him success in his future endeavors. Levan Davitashvili underlined the importance of fruitful cooperation between Georgia and the Republic of France and expressed his desire to further continue active partnership with the French side .

At the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the bilateral relations. The participants set focus on the cooperation in the fields of livestock, winemaking, irrigation, land management, climate change, natural resources protection and waste management.

Levan Davitashvili introduced the Ambassador with the state financed agricultural and environmental development projects and underlined the importance of Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area Agreement (DCFTA), which creates opportunities for Georgian products to have an access in other countries markets .

 “We have very close and friendly relations with the Ministry of Agriculture, Agri-Food and Forestry of France. I would like to once again express my gratitude to the French Republic and international donor organizations for their financial contribution to Georgia's agriculture and environment protection ”said Levan Davitashvili.
French Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Minister and showed an appreciation for the hospitality, he noted, that considering enthusiastic admiration for agrarian sector, the first visit in Georgia was held with the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
 “Agricultural, as well as environmental fields are one of the most important areas of cooperation between our countries. I believe, that through joint efforts, upon the effective cooperation we will achieve a success in a number of fields ”said Diego Colas.

The Deputy Minister Khatia Tsilosani attended the meeting.
