Cleaning campaign held in Krtsanisi forest park

Under the annual International campaign ‘’ Clean Up the World’’, the cleaning campaign was held in Krtsanisi forest park. With the financial support of the USAID, the Caucasus Environmental NGO Network (CENN) organized the event in partnership with the Wildlife Agency of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and Tbilisi City Hall.

The Deputy Minister of Environmental protection and Agriculture, Solomon Pavliashvili, Acting US Ambassador Elizabeth Rudd, Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi Maia Bitadze, CENN Executive Director, Nana Janashia, school students, University students, as well as volunteers participated in the cleaning action ‘’ Keep Georgia Beautiful’’.

The initiative aims to reduce the number of waste sites throughout Georgia and raise environmental awareness in the Georgian community.
As part of the campaign, the competition was held between different schools of Tbilisi in Krtsanisi Forest Park, the school ‘’Servantes’’ became the winner of the contest.

Since 2018, through financial support of the USAID, in close collaboration with the government, business sector and Georgian society, the CENN has been conducting a large-scale environmental campaign – ‘’Keep Georgia Beautiful’’, aiming to protect the environment. The campaign brings together 27 organizations, including financial institutions, international organizations, government agencies and schools to take responsibility for the environment and care for their adopted territories.
