Solomon Pavliashvili meets Armenian Delegation

Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Solomon Pavliashvili hosted the Delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia

The Delegation was headed by the Vice President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and Head of the Georgia-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group, Lena Nazaryan. 

Solomon Pavliashvili informed the members of the delegation about activities of the Ministry and set focus on the environmental and agricultural development programs implemented by Georgian Government.

The Deputy Minister highlighted legislative measures undertaken in the fields of forestry, biodiversity and sustainable waste management and declared environmental protection as one of the top priority issues in the country.
Georgian side brought forward activities undertaken by Jihgaura Agricultural Research Center and Agricultural and Rural Development Agency.

 “The visit of the Armenian Parliamentary Delegation is another positive step taken to improve bilateral relations in the political, economic and cultural fields. We presented grant programs implemented by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and highlighted reforms implementing in the environmental field ”Solomon Pavliashvili said.

 “We have a keen interest in obtaining more information about ongoing programs / projects implementing in Georgia and Georgian side to share its experience accumulated in the environmental and agricultural fields. I think similar visits will further support the development of the countries ”said Lena Nazaryan, Vice President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.

The Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Head of the Friendship Group with the Parliament of the Republic of Armenia, Giorgi Volski, Deputy Chairman of the Agrarian Issues Committee, Irakli Shiolashvili, Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia, Giorgi Saganelidze as well as representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia attended the meeting.
