The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia hosted the Expert Mission on the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange instrument of the European Commission (TAIEX)

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia hosted the Expert Mission on the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange instrument of the European Commission (TAIEX). The aim of the misson is to provide Georgian side with an assistance in the Sanitary and Phytosanitary field.

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Khatia Tsilosani stated, that under the Association Agreement, Georgia has the obligation to bring the national legislation into compliance with the EU legislation, the mission envisages the support of foreign experts in the approximation process.

Foreign experts will provide consultations  in the field of food safety and animal diseases, moreover, the experts will share their experience  in the introduction of identification and registration systems.
The mission of experts will hold meetings with the relevant state agencies until October 4. 

Team Leader, Head of Emergency Response Department, State Food and Veterinary Service in Lithuania, Marius Masiulis, Edwins Olsevskisi, Deputy Director of Veterinary Surviliance Department State Food and Veterinary Service in Latvia, Edwins Olsevskisi, Expert in Food Hygiene , Netherlands, Ron Dvinger and the Head of the National Food Agency attended the meeting.
