Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Yuri Nozadze hosted the experts of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (ICUN)

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Yuri Nozadze hosted the experts of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (ICUN) to discuss issues related to the Wetland habitats of the Colchic Lowlands to gain the status of World Heritage site”

The Deputy Minister drew his attention to the Georgian cultural heritage to be included in the list of World Heritage Sites by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Yuri Nozadze noted, that Georgia to gain the status of the Natural Heritage Site is an unprecedented case in the region and expressed hope that all things will go well.

The expert of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, Josephine Langley noted, that above mentioned issues are under discussion. According to the expert, a relevant document will be prepared and submitted to the UNESCO office.

The Head of the Agency of Protected Areas, Valerian Mchedlidze and representatives of the relevant departments of the Ministry attended the meeting.
