Georgia-China free trade relations will be enhanced

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili hosted Chinese investor, Chairman of the China Anhui Imported Food Industrial Park, Yang Xia.
At the meeting, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture outlined the importance of free trade relations between Georgia and the People's Republic of China. The Minister brought forward issues related to the export of Georgian agri-food products in the Chinese market and set his focus on further deepening cooperation between the two countries.

 “China is one of Georgia's strategic trading partners. We have been cooperating successfully in  a number of different areas. As a result of active marketing campaigns with the Chinese side, Georgian wine export to the Chinese market is annually increasing. We welcome to further deepening cooperation and creation of trade platforms to boost popularization of Georgian agri-food products and increase export in the Chinese market ” Levan Davitashvili said.
According to the Chinese investor, Georgia has one of the important places in the implementation of the Chinese President's initiative  ‘’ One Belt, One Road ‘’ Georgia has a great potential in a number of areas, including agriculture and agribusiness. Last year, Georgian companies participated in the China International Import Exhibition in Shanghai, whereby, interest in Georgian products, especially wine was significantly increased.

“With the support of the Chinese government and initiative of the business sector, an association was established, which includes representatives of more than 40 large cities and various industries in China. The association set up an imported food processing industry center in Anhui Province, the best platform for establishing foreign-made food products on the Chinese market. The center's exhibition space allows the manufacturer to present and introduce products to Chinese consumers throughout the year. We will be pleased if Georgian producers actively use this platform " - Chairman of the China Anhui Imported Food Industrial Park, Yang Xia, said.
It was mentioned, that Georgian side - Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture along with the Partnership Fund will actively cooperate with the Chinese side to further deepen trade and economic relations and increase access for Georgian companies to China's largest market.

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Khatia Tsilosani and representatives of the Partnership Fund attended the meeting.
