Giorgi Khanishvili met with the representatives of the Asian Development Bank

The First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Giorgi Khanishvili  met with the Head of the Department of Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Donneth A Walton.

At the meeting, the First Deputy Minister has been focused on the reforms implemented in the agricultural field in Georgia and highlighted projects developed by the Government of Georgia to promote the development of the sector. 

Giorgi Khanishvili underlined the importance of engagement of international and donor organizations in the development of the agricultural sector.
 “In recent years, we have made a significant progress in the field of agriculture as a result of the proper policy implemented by Georgian government. Our goal is to develop business-oriented agriculture in the country, increase production and income of rural residents. The country has a real potential. By investing heavily in the sector, this potential will be harnessed more quickly and effectively”Giorgi Khanishvili said.

According to the representative of Asian Development BankDonneth A Walton, the Asian Development Bank plans to implement agricultural projects in Georgia and aims to get acquainted with the current situation in the country.
The representatives of the relevant departments of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and Asian Development Bank attended the meeting.
