Grape Vintage to start in Racha region

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture outlined the importance of constructive cooperation and coordinated work between winemakers and wine producers.

Active communication and collaboration between winemakers and winegrowers is very important in order to hold a smooth grape vintage. Georgian Government will make its best to help farmers in delivering their grape to companies, similar as it was in Kakheti region” Solomon Pavliashvili said.

This year, about 1 500 tons of grapes from Alexandrouli and Mujuretuli grapes are expected in Racha region.

Levan Mekhuzla, the head of the grape vintage coordination center,  noted, that headquarters at Ambrolauri had been fully mobilized with human and technical resources, that allows the grape harvest to carry out without facing any problems. Wine growers will start picking grapes when the weather improves.
The State Representative of Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region, Archil Japaridze along with the representatives of local authorities and wine producing companies attended the meeting in Ambrolauri Municipality. 

Grape harvest reached its final stage in Kakheti region. As of October 9, up to 263,000 tonnes of grapes have been processed, the highest rate in the last decade.
