New Head appointed to the Regional Division of the Environmental Supervision Department in Adjara and Guria regions
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili presented the new Head of the Department of Environmental Supervision of Ajara and Guria regions, Teimuraz Geldiashvili to the employees of the Department of Environmental Supervision. The Chairman of Government of Adjara Autonomous Republic, Tornike Rizhvadze attended the event.
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili set focus on the activities of the Department of Environmental Supervision and noted, that effective work of the department is of utmost importance to achieve the desired results in Adjara and Guria regions.
“In recent times, the Department of Environmental Supervision has intensified its work. The challenges facing the agency are increasing daily, therefore strengthening the capacities of the agency is particularly important. We have started upgrading infrastructure and enhancing technical capabilities; Employees are being retrained; The agency is rebranded; Each employee should have the highest sence of responsibility, as well as motivation for effective operation of the department.
The new Head of Adjara and Guria Regional Division will actively cooperate with the local authorities. Coordinated activities will help to achieve positive results. I believe, that aforementioned department and the Department of Environmental Supervision will fulfill all duties and tasks envisaged under the new legislation ”Levan Davitashvili said.
The Chairman of the Government of Adjara, Tornike Rizhvadze outlined the importance of cooperation between the local Government and the Department of Environmental Supervision, in particular, Adjara and Guria Regional Division, and noted, that the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara will always support the Agency.
“It is especially important for the region to have an effective service in the field of environmental and natural resources protection. In order to achieve positive results in this area, it is necessary to take appropriate legal measures. In this regard, our cooperation with the Department of Environmental Supervision will be continue in the future as well ”- noted Tornike Rizvadze.
