Wine Festival “Marneuli –Craddle of Vine” was held in Marneuli Municipality

Wine Festival “Marneuli - Cradle of Vine” was organized with the support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and organized by Marneuli Municipality.

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Khatia Tsilosani addressed the guests and congratulated them on the holiday.

"The festival is particularly important to hold in Marneuli municipality, which is an archaeological hub of Georgian vine and wine culture, where ancient exhibits have been found and enabled scientists to draw important conclusions regarding Georgian wine culture" the Deputy Minister said.

"Georgian Wine Day" was first celebrated in 2014. Due to the increased interest of local population and tourists, the wine celebration events lasted for a week in 2016. Since 2018, Georgian wine days - "Ghvinobistve" - are being celebrated as a large scale events held across the country. Within the frame of the "Gjvinobistve 2019", wine festival has already been held in Telavi and will be further continued. On October 12 ,Tbilisi and Gurjaani will host wine festivals.

Georgian Wine Days aim to promote Georgia as the homeland of wine and boost popularization of Georgian wines.
