Levan Davitashvili together the representatives of the International Organizations discussed grant projects

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili hosted the representatives of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

 “The support of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) for target areas, including production of high quality planting material, as well as ensuring compliance with the international standards in the nurseries is of utmost importance for us. The certified nursery farms means to increase production in the country. I believe, that we will jointly achieve amazing results” Levan Davitashvili said.

The importance of providing knowledge to farmers and increasing their access to relevant information was brought forward by the representative of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

The participants were focused on the new grant program which will be jointly implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the field of rural development and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in the field of agricultural development.

At the meeting, Levan Davitashvili expressed gratitude to the representatives of the international donor organization for their support provided over the years and underlined the importance of their contribution to the development of the agricultural sector in the country. The Minister expressed hope for fruitful cooperation.

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Khatia Tsilosani attended the meeting.
