Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Khatia Tsilosani made a speech at the IFAD Strategic Forum in Istanbul, Turkey, where she set the main focus on the state policy to improve the economic situation of Georgian Population and highlighted current projects and the importance of International support.

‘’The main priority directions identified by the governments of different countries for further funding were brought forward at the Regional Strategic Forum in Istanbul. Georgia has been working with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) for 20 years. It is very important, that we are jointly implementing the project which includes a support for youth employment in rural areas, which Georgian government considers to be one of the key components of rural development ” stated the Deputy Minister. 

Khatia Tsilosani outlined, that Georgia has been working on a number of regulations under the Association Agreement approximation policy. International and donor support in terms of technical support as well as knowledge and experience sharing is of utmost importance. 

The Deputy Minister also noted, that successful results were achieved as a result of close cooperation between the public and private sectors in Georgia.

On October 22-24, the Strategic Forum of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) was held in Istanbul. 200 delegates from more than 20 countries in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and Central Asia. IFAD senior officials, together with delegates attended the forum , whereby the aspects of the future development of the region in light with the challenges facing the world were discussed by participants.
