At the IFAD strategic forum, the project implemented in Georgia was announced as the best one

“With the financial support of the IFAD, the ongoing Agriculture Modernization, Market Access and Resilience (AMMAR) project has been recognized as one of the most successful projects. The winner project was announced among numerous projects implemented in 22 countries in North Africa, South Caucasus, Central Asia and Eastern Europe.

This is the great success of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and the project team, the result of 20 years of productive work with IFAD ”said Lali Durmishidze, Project Manager of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
On October 22-24, the Strategic Forum of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) was held in Istanbul. 200 delegates from more than 20 countries in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and Central Asia. IFAD senior officials, together with delegates attended the forum , whereby the aspects of the future development of the region in light with the challenges facing the world were discussed by participants.

The participants set their focus on different directions. The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) has prioritized increasing support for women's involvement in the agricultural activities.

"It should be noted, that a new project - Modernization of Diary farms and Market Access is launched in Georgia, which envisages creation of favorable conditions for women under the grant funding component. We believe, that this privileged advantage will enable women to become more active and start entrepreneurial activities in this direction, ”Lali Durmishidze said.
