The Georgian Cheese and Culinary Festival was held in Gurjaani

For the first time this year, Gurjaani hosted the Festival of Georgian Cheese and Culinary. The event was opened by Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Khatia Tsilosani and Majoritarian MP from Gurjaani Municipality Davit Songulashvili opened the event.

“Promoting Georgian agri-food products and establishing them on the market is one of the priorities of the Ministry. Gurjaani cheese and culinary festival is a good opportunity, both for farmers to introduce their products and generate more income, as well as for regional development and improvement of local economic conditions " - said Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture  ,Khatia Tsilosani.

According to the majoritarian MP of Gurjaani municipality, David Songulashvili, the above mentioned festival aims to popularize the culinary, that will further contribute to the development of tourism in the region.
Over 50 varieties of both traditional and ancient Georgian cheese recipes, as well as European branded cheese analogues produced in Georgia were exhibited at the festival.

The guests had an opportunity to taste and buy Georgian cheese and cheese products, different types of Georgian wine, sweets and other local produce.
As part of the festival, cheese producers and Georgian and foreign chefs organized master classes where guests got familiar with the technologies of Georgian cheese making and cuisine. The Khinkali making was held embracing finalists of the culinary competition Bocuse d'Or finalists.

The festival included an ethno cultural space where culinary artists from different regions introduced Georgian traditional culinary  technology to their guests.
Within the festival, various entertainment activities, including exhibition of thematic photos and handicrafts were held. Local folk ensembles and singers did their best to boost festive mood.

The event was attended by representatives of local self-government, restaurants, culinary, sommeliers and tourists.
The Festival of Georgian Cheese and Culinary was organized and supported by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and Gurjaani Municipality under the program "Promotion of Georgian agri-food products".
