The First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Giorgi Khanishvili opened the meeting, where members of the Interagency Coordination Council heard updated information on the steps taken in 2019 under the Rural Development Action Plan for 2017-2020

The participants set focus on the obligations of ENPARD III 2019 and the current state of their implementation.

As National Project Manager at UNDP Georgia, Nodar Kereselidze stated, under the EMPARD III, the UNDP supports the Coordination Council, which was established to further strengthen the interagency coordination structure  for rural development policy’’ .


The Interagency Coordination Council meeting is traditionally held once every six months. The members of the Council discuss the main achievements and needs facing the Government of Georgia to fulfill the obligations taken under the EU agreement.

The representatives of the relevant agencies within the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and different government agencies attended the meeting.
