Georgia, Tbilisi Exhibition Center Expo -Georgia hosts the largest and prestigious gastronomic championship Bocuse d’Or for the first time

The Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia, Khatia Tsilosani opened the event.
Bocuse d'Or “is an important project for Georgia, our country has a great potential to take part and establish a proper place in the gastronomic and culinary sector worldwide. With the support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and the Embassy of France,  the Bocuse d'Or competition is being held for the first time in Georgia. The winner is a Chef of the Year 2019 semi-finalist, who will participate in the contest in Tallinn. Due to its importance, the Ministry expresses readiness to support similar projects ”Khatia Tsilosani said.

Within the frame of the Bocuse d'Or Georgia, 8 out of 100 Georgians were selected and judged by jury members comprising of Georgian and foreign chefs.

The winner of the national championship is Eric Sarkisian, on behalf of Georgia he will take part in the European semifinals in Tallinn. However, if success is achieved, in 2021, Georgia will compete in the Bocuse d'Or international final in France, Lyon. The 24 finalists will compete for the Golden Bocuse Award in the city of Lyon.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia is the main sponsor of Bocuse d'Or Georgia, the organizer of the competition - Business Consulting Agency Gastronaut, Project Submitter - Georgian Gastronomy Association, supporter - Culinary Federation of Georgia.
