Greenhouse cluster to establish in the village Maghlaki, Tskaltubo district

“New tourism opportunities are emerging in Tskaltubo district. We will have tens of thousands of visitors and this increased demand will require an increased supply of local quality food products.

‘’We are launching a new project, that means a creation of a greenhouse cluster "Imereti Agro Zone". For a long time, we have been working on the aforementioned project at the Ministry ” stated Levan Davitashvili, while visiting Tskaltubo district, whereby he inspected a state-of-the-art greenhouse established by Herbia Ltd. At the meeting, the Minister set his focus on the importance of a greenhouse cluster in the region.
As the Minister noted, Tskaltubo has always been Georgia's visiting card.

“Tskaltubo has always been Georgia's visiting card. Unfortunately, for over 30 years, we have not been able to revive this resort. One can name it a corporate social responsibility, although the fact is, that Bidzina Ivanishvili started to revitalize the resort and create new opportunities in the region’’ said the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili at the meeting
It should be noted, that creation of the greenhouse cluster aims to increase income of regional community and stimulate access to new markets by developing the greenhouse sector, including maximum utilization of the export potential in West part of Georgia.

In the coming days, a competition will be announced for the procurement of design–consultation service. The cluster development and general plan will be submitted by the winning company, upon which the relevant works will be undertaken.

With the financial support of Georgian Government, the LTD Herbia established a state-of-the-art greenhouse, where different herbs are grown. The total cost of the project is GEL 3,000,000, out of which GEL 592,000 is a grant and GEL 1,050,000 is a preferential loan.
