"Mamuka Khazaradze should feel embarrassed when he visits a state-of-the-art high-tech greenhouse built through Georgian government financial support and says, that Georgia holding a fixed mindset is stuck to plough cultivation or hoe farming ‘’Giorgi Khanishvili said.

‘’In respond to Mr. Khazaradze’s statement, I would like  to say, that activities he  plans to implement for the future have been implementing for years in the country. Moreover, Agricultural Development Strategy is developed upon the recommendations of international organizations. Moreover, the implementation process of the strategy included more than 200 new high-tech enterprises to be established in the country, out of which, 800 ones were upgraded to modern standards, modern gardens and orchards were planted on 8,000 hectares of agricultural land area, high-yielding livestock breeds were introduced, which ultimately resulted in 500% increase. The private sector put $ 2 billion investment in the sector, while the state co-financing has reached to GEL 260 million. However, since 2012, imported agricultural products have not been increased at all , compared to 2018, although, the state support programs enabled us to double the export. Almost a billion worth of Georgian products have been exported to other countries. The Ministry is gradually implementing the agricultural development strategy for 2015-2020 and provides an information to local and international society about ongoing activities. Mr. Khazaradze, I would like to inform you, that representatives of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) announced,  that Georgia is successfully undergoing a systematic transformation of agricultural systems. This is a success. However, there are still important projects to be implemented under the 2020-2021 strategy. Therefore, do not mislead the public and do not insult those 40,000 farmers engaged in the introduction of state-of-the-art technology, cultivation of new crops and breeding of new varieties "the First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture said.
