Under the frame of the Green Economy and Innovation Forum, the students from different universities of Georgia, as well as forestry sector stakeholders presented business plans for sustainable use of forest resources. The Caucasus Environmental NGO Network (CENN) organized the forum

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Yuri Nozadze and the representative of the Austrian Development Agency, South Caucasus Office, Nino Togonidze addressed the participants.

The Deputy Minister outlined the importance of youth involvement in the management of forestry sector.
“Business concepts presenting at the forum with the main focus on non-timber forest resources and development of ecotourism is of utmost importance. We welcome to the Austrian development Agency to finance successful projects in the country ” Yuri Nozadze said.

The first day of the forum was dedicated to the discussion of business concepts prepared in the field of energy and the second day to the students' concepts on the multifunctional use of forest services.

The Special Commission together with the Forestry Working Group, selected four concepts prepared by the students.

The program is initiated under the frame of the project "Sustainable Forestry Management for Rural Development", which is financially supported by Austrian Development Cooperation.
