19th Agro / Food / Drink / Tech / Expo 2019 International Exhibition of Agriculture and Food Industry opens in Tbilisi

On November 20-22, the 19th International Exhibition of Agriculture, Food, Processing and Packaging Technologies Agro / Food / Drink / Tech / Expo2019 will be held at the 6th and 11th Pavilions of Expo Georgia Exhibition Center.
Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and Resan Kikava, Director of Exhibition Center Georgia opened the event.

The Minister outlined the importance of the exhibition and noted that, the Ministry will continue to support similar activities to promote the development of the sector in the future as well.
 “Modern technologies are essential for the development and enhancement of competitiveness of the agricultural sector. The agriculture to be based on technology which will further facilitate to the development, progress and innovation is of utmost importance.

Therefore,  we should engage more young people in the agricultural field. It is symbolic, that the exhibition was opened on November 21, since 2015, on the initiative of the Ministry, the Farmer's Day is marked on November 20. I would like to congratulate our farmers on this day and wish them success in their future endeavors.

The Ministry is actively working on all relevant issues to help farmers in overcoming the existed challenges. Similar to previous years, with support from the Ministry, farmers from all regions of Georgia will also attend the exhibition.

They will be able to establish direct contacts with the entrepreneurs, get acquainted with the latest technologies and innovations in the agricultural sector. Generally, similar exhibitions promote the development of the agriculture and food industry ”Levan Davitashvili said.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Georgia Fatma Seren Yazgan and the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Georgia Mikhail Miyatlikov, as well as the Deputy Ambassador of Italy to Georgia and the representative of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry attended the meeting.

This year, about 100 companies from 15 countries (Austria, Belarus, Turkey, Italy, Cote d'Ivoire, Lithuania, Morocco, Poland, Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Ukraine, Hungary, Kazakhstan, China) are participating in the exhibition. It should be noted, that Turkey, Belarus and Armenia will present their national stands, where a wide range of locally produced products will be displayed.

This year, the 19th International Exhibition of Agriculture, Food, Processing and Packaging Technologies presents agricultural machinery and equipment, packaging materials, greenhouse technologies and equipment, irrigation systems, laboratory equipment, planting and seed materials, Fertilizers and pesticides Consulting services and modern technologies.

At the exhibition, the stand of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture provides opportunity to visitors to get acquainted with all agricultural and rural development projects and programs. With the support of the Ministry and organized by Expo Georgia, more than 850 farmers from all regions of Georgia will attend the exhibition.

On November 21, within the exhibition, the conference AGROBUSINESS and a discussion panel as a part of the conference embracing plans and opportunities for agricultural development , as well as seminars on Agribusiness Opportunities and Standards for Georgian Products in the Supermarket Chain.

The International Exhibition on Agriculture, Food Industry, Processing and Packaging Technologies is held with the support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Produce in Georgia and TBC Business.
The exhibition Agro / Food / Drink / Tech / Expo2019  is the best platform for establishing business contacts between local and foreign producers, introducing a variety of products yo consumers and promoting development of the food industry in the country.
