We congratulate all farmers and wish them good luck in their future endeavors! We have said it a number of times and will repeat it again, that the fruits of your labor are priceless and we are well aware of the challenges you face. Accordingly, we plan and implement all projects and activities to support you in overcoming these challenges. ”
“I believe, that having an access to financial resources was one of the crucial issues for you, therefore, since 2013, we have started implementing a preferential agricultural project. Up until today, farmers and entrepreneurs have received over 37,000 preferential loans.
The project "Plant the Future" was created to facilitate the development of the fruit sector. We are traditionally an agricultural country (taking agricultural route) and I am pleased that, through our joint efforts , ( including your activities, diligence and hard work ) we have already planted apple, plum, pear, persimmon, almond and berry gardens on about 8,000 hectares of agricultural land plots.
State-support projects are being implemented to develop livestock, honey production, cattle breeding, hazelnut and tea production. The state support was provided to develop the viticulture and winery field, which significantly strengthened the sector. Through our joint efforts, we are building processing and storing enterprises. The state agro-insurance project is targeted at insuring risks that are quite high in the agricultural sector, engaging more and more farmers and entrepreneurs each year.
It should be noted, that Georgian Government has successfully implemented a project to promote access to agricultural machinery / equipment, the steps will be further taken in this direction.
I would also like to outline the increased interest of young people in the agricultural field and say, that this is one of the biggest achievements. Without young people and youngsters’ capacity we would not be able to adequately develop the field. I am pleased, that more and more young people get engaged in the state rural and agricultural development projects.
I would like to express my gratitude to all of you who are following this path of development, deepening knowledge, adopting new technologies and creating competitive Georgian products, which will be gradually established in the local as well as international markets. We are by your side at every stage of supply chain, your success is very important for us, as it makes an important contribution to the economic progress of the country. The Ministry is actively working to diversify markets. Furthermore, the sale of products is one of the major challenges for us and we will take important measures in this regard.
We face numerous challenges and plan to implement a great deal of activities in the future. Agriculture is a field where farming activities bring tangible results after a couple of years. However, we are taking steps, moving forward to see immense results soon.
