The EU-funded rural development program, ENPARD, has been running since 2013 and will be continued until 2022

The Innovative project implemented by four agencies of the EU and UN aims to enhance competitiveness of the  private sector in Georgia .
More than 100 representatives of Georgian private companies, business associations and international organizations attended the stakeholder forum.

The participants discussed modern trends in private sector development, including enhancing business competitiveness.
The forum was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Parliamentary Committee on Diaspora and the Caucasus.

The forum was organized by the European Union (EU) in collaboration with four UN agencies - the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
During the workshops, forum participants discussed a wide range of activities including  creation of specific clusters for the benefit of business, challenges and opportunities in the packaging, nurseries, processing and agro-industrial sectors; development of environmentally responsible and friendly business, which is related to the adoption of the new Waste Management Code of Georgia, the introduction of extended producer responsibility and increased energy efficiency requirements. Participants of the forum discussed the role of Georgian Diaspora in establishing Georgian business in European market.

The Innovative Project for Private Sector Competitiveness is the EU-funded initiative in Georgia implemented by four UN agencies. The project includes private companies, sectoral business associations, educational institutions, professional associations and trade unions. The program, with a total budget of US $ 6 million, will continue until the end of 2023.

The Private Sector Competitiveness Project is a part of the EU4Business, aiming to enhance greater business sophistication, under which the EU promotes Georgian entrepreneurship, improves the legislative field, increases access to finance and strengthens the cooperation with the EU.
