Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Levan Davitashvili held a meeting with the Delegation of Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan

At the meeting the sides discussed issues related to the cooperation in the field of food safety.

Levan Davitashvili outlined, that cross-border cooperation in the field of food, veterinary and phytosanitary has  no-alternative and is a precondition for further deepening trade relations.

The Head of the Azerbaijani Food Safety Agency, Goshgar Tamazli noted,  that newly established Food Agency in Azerbaijan is looking forward to the National Food Agency of Georgia   to share its experience.
The head of the National Food Agency, Zurab Chekurashvili and representatives of relevant departments attended the meeting.

During the visit, Azerbaijani counterparts visited National Food Agency, where they have seen special equipment and techniques and received an information on the animal health, plant protection and state control system.

The Memorandum of Understanding was planned to sign to further deepen the cooperation between the two agencies.

Within the visit, the delegation of the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan will visit the laboratory of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and customs checkpoints.
