Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Levan Davitashvili hosted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Greece to Georgia Dimitrios Karabalis

The perspectives of future cooperation, including  sharing information on the  improvement of air quality, solid waste management and other environmental  issues have been discussed by sides at the meeting.

“Environmental protection is one of the top priorities of the country. Under the EU-Georgia Association Agreement, we have taken a number of commitments, which represent a significant challenge for Georgia and we are working on effective and timely implementation of these obligations ” Levan Davitashvili said.

At the meeting Levan Davitashvili has been focused on the projects and initiatives implemented in the field of environment and outlined the importance of the ambient air quality portal and a mobile automatic station for monitoring atmospheric air quality  in the country.

Dimitri Carabali noted, that a number of interesting environmental projects might  be implemented jointly, on the basis of close partnership between Georgia and Greece.

The Deputies Nino Tandilashvili and Khatia Tsilosani attended the meeting held at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.
