Levan Davitashvili: Bidzina Ivanishvili is transplanting 100 years old trees to create a unique Dendrological Park

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili made a comment about recent interview of the Chairman of the Georgian Dream, Bizina Ivanishvili given to the journal ‘’Wild Nature’’ , whereby the Minister noted, that transportation of  100 years old trees is in full compliance with the law and serves to create a unique dendrological park in the country.

“It is awkward to speculate on the issues related to the creation of a unique dendrological park in Georgia. Actually, with the goodwill of Bidzina Ivanishvili, Georgia will have a unique dendrological park, which will be comprised of  different species of 100 years old unique plants. As for the process of transporting centennial trees, this is a worldwide practice. It is important to note, that the whole transplanting process is in full compliance with the law ” said Levan Davitashvili.

“I would like to point out, that Bidzina Ivanishvili initiated to implement changes (such as illegal logging ) in the natural resources  protection policy of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia. Today sanctions against environmental offenses have been tightened, thereby, the situation has been dramatically changed in terms of the execution of sanctions ”said the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
