Levan Davitashvili: "The mountainous region of Georgia is rich in natural resources, proper utilization of these resources will enable us to create additional economic activities in the mountains."

“I would like to congratulate you on the Mountain Day. Georgia’s terrain is largely mountainous, thereby, more than a half of the territory of the whole country is mountainous, which requires a special approach and policy. We have already adopted a new legislation, established the mountain advisory board, developed state programs to support the development of the mountainous regions. It is a good tradition to celebrate a Mountain Day and host our mountain children in Tbilisi. I would like to thank Ms. Maya Tskitishvili for this event. Youth play an important role in the mountain. Without younger generation the mountains will lose their charm and vitality.
I wish all young people a good luck and sincerely hope, that more people will get benefit from the state programs to further improve their livelihood in the mountains. Moreover, we will create new protected areas in Aragvi Gorge, Pshav-Khevsureti and attract more tourists, which will greatly contribute to the economic development of the gorge. Once again, I congratulate you on the mountain day! ”- Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture said.
