Under the ‘’Unified Agro Project’’ new livestock farm operates in Kakheti region

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili got acquainted with the working process in the newly opened, modern cattle farm “White Farm” LLC in the village Kvemo Bodbe, Sighnaghi Municipality .

 “This farm is truly outstanding and probably one of the best farms in Georgia, whereby,  all standards in the field of animal husbandry and food safety are in compliance with the EU standards. This is a good example of the important results achieved through state-run programs. In recent years, the Ministry has implemented programs that respond to all challenges facing the livestock sector. It is important to have more highly productive, economically robust, developed farms in the country, where all standards are maintained and kept. This will allow us to increase the competitiveness of livestock breeding in the country "- said Levan Davitashvili.

The farm was built within the ‘’Unified Agro Project’’. The total of GEL 15,200,000 was invested in the project, out of which , GEL 1 500 000 is preferential agro-credit and the rest invested by the beneficiary.

‘’White Farm’’ is a Dutch-Georgian-joint venture, that produces 10 tons of raw milk per day. The products are sold on the local market. The company employs 35 locals on a permanent basis.
State financial support has given entrepreneurs an extra push to develop and expand their production. Since 2013, 212 new enterprises have been financed under the ‘’Unified Agro-Project ’’, 74 new ones in Kakheti region.
