The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Khatia Tsilosani took part in the 12th Conference of Agricultural Ministers in Berlin

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Khatia Tsilosani took part in the 12th Conference in Berlin , bringing together members of high-level delegations from more than 70 countries.
The workshops also included a communique, whereby the participants brought forward challenges facing the agricultural sector and discussed how to deal with them,
The Delegates from more than 70 countries agreed to prioritize the development of a climate-smart agriculture, support small and medium-sized farms, and ensure fair trade conditions  while making agrarian policies.
"The participants noted, that the global population growth rate, climate change, and a deficiency of the safe and nutritious food supply as a vital component of food security are becoming more and more threatening. Therefore, it is important to make the proper agrarian policy that will be focused on the introduction of modern knowledge and technology.
The Government of Georgia is actively working to implement a climate-smart policy. At the same time, work is underway to develop smallholder farms and introduce an international standard to boost agricultural produce "said the Deputy Minister of Environmental Production  and Agriculture, Khatia Tsilosani.
