Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Nino Tandilashvili met with the Director General of the State Meteorological Service of Turkey,Volkan Mutlu Coşkun

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia hosted the Director General of the State Meteorological Service of Turkey,Volkan Mutlu Coşkun

At the meeting, the Deputy Minister noted, that representatives of the Turkish Meteorological Service to share experience in preparing early warnings regarding rapid flooding and forecasting the possibility of the movement of dust particles into the higher layers of the atmosphere on the territory of Georgia is of utmost importance for Georgian side.

It should be noted, that the Turkish Meteorological Service is one of the leading services across the region.

The Director General of the Meteorological Service thanked the representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and the National Environmental Agency for supporting the Turkish Meteorological Service in granting the status of World Meteorological Organization Training Center at the World Meteorological Congress last year.

As was mentioned, several specialists from Hydrometeorology Department of the National Environmental Agency have already upgraded their qualifications in Meteorological Centers in Turkey ; Moreover, the specialists of the Turkish Meteorological Service introduced the modern Turkish system for visualizing synoptic products in Georgia.

The Deputy Director General of the Turkish State Meteorological Service, Mustafa Kelik, Director of the International Relations Department of the Meteorological Service, Murat Altiyolar, Head of the National Environmental Agency, Andro Aslanishvili and representatives of the relevant agencies within the Ministry attended the meeting.
