The winners of the contest "Clean Region" revealed

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Solomon Pavliashvili attended the award ceremony of the competition ‘’Clean Region’’ held under the project “Keep Georgia Tidy” and awarded the winners with special prizes.
“Waste management is one of the priority areas of environmental policy. I believe this competition will raise environmental awareness among population and improve waste management system in the country. The Ministry will always support projects that will increase and promote public engagement in the environmental activities ”Solomon Pavliashvili said.
Under the project " Keep Georgia Tidy’’, the competition Clean Region was held for the fourth time
The winners of the 2019 competition were revealed in the following nominations:
• “Clean region” - Kakheti region

• “Clean City” – town Zugdidi

• “Clean Municipality” - Zugdidi Municipality

• “Clean Village” - Orsantia (Zugdidi Municipality)

• “Beautiful Balcony” – town Mtskheta, Lily Kapanadze Balcony of the house

• “Clean Street” city  Tbilisi, Zakariadze Street

• “Beautiful Yard of the Enterprise” - town Telavi, yard of wine company ‘’Shumi’’

• "Beautiful Yard" - Iza Gabitashvili's yard in Guria
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to Georgia and Armenia, Ulrich Tiedstrom, Chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, Nino Tsilosani, Chairman of Tbilisi City Municipal Assembly Giorgi Tkemaladze and members of the project implementation team attended the event.
The event was organized by the Greens Movement of Georgia / Friends of the Earth-Georgia, with the support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and the Tbilisi City Council.
