Caucasus Wildlife Fund will finance the ranger insurance with 40,000 euros

The Caucasus Wildlife Fund will finance the Life and Health Insurance of  Rangers of the Territorial Administrations of the LEPL Agency of Protected Areas of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.

 

The Deputy Minister Yuri Nozadze, Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas Valerian Mchedlidze and Executive Director of Caucasus Wildlife Fund George Giacomini signed the grant agreement. According to which, the Caucasus Wildlife Fund will provide a financial assistance of 40,000 euros in 2020 insurance for protected area administration staff and rangers.

 

 “ It should be noted, that the employees of the protected area administration are at high risk. Rangers protect the natural heritage sites of their country for 24 hours; They often have to fight poachers and protect the wildlife. I would like to thank the Caucasus Wildlife Fund, which has been co-funding the Rangers' life and health insurance over the years, "said Yuri Nozadze, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.

 

Caucasus Nature Fund has been covering part of the Agency's insurance costs since 2013.
 

 

The Executive Director of Caucasus Nature Fund, George Giacomini noted, that it is essential, that the Fund can co-finance the life and health insurance of all twenty administrations of protected areas.
