Recommendations for Agricultural Cooperatives

Recommendations  for the development of agricultural cooperatives are underway.

The First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Giorgi Khanishvili  held a meeting with the expert of the Institute for the Development of Agricultural Cooperation in Asia (IDACA), Terunuma Hiroshi and representatives of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture works in a number of directions to support the development of agricultural cooperatives in Georgia.

According to Giorge Khanishvili,  development of cooperative farms is one of the top priority issues , accordingly expert assistance from Japan is of utmost importance for the country.

Making recommendations for agricultural cooperatives have been discussed by sides at the meeting.

 

Within the frame of the joint project "Creation of Business-oriented Agricultural Cooperatives" implemented by Agricultural and Rural Development Agency and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the development of recommendations for agricultural cooperatives are being underway and will be presented on February 28.

 

The Director of Agricultural and Rural Development Agency, Ilia Tamarashvili and representatives of the relevant department attended the meeting.
