First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Giorgi Khanishvili, State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Alexandre Motserelia and the Mission Director of USAID/Georgia, Peter A. Wiebler met with the successful agri -businessmen in Zugdidi Technopark.

The First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Giorgi Khanishvili, State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Alexandre Motserelia and the Mission Director of USAID/Georgia, Peter A. Wiebler met with the successful agri -businessmen in Zugdidi Technopark.

 

At the meeting, the representative of the USAID brought forward a new grant program, which encourages innovative change in the agricultural value chains and increases the quality of agricultural produce.

 

The goal of the grant program is to find and fund innovative ideas that will have a positive effect on the value chain of the selected agricultural products (Berries, herbs, stone fruits, seed fruits (apples), perishable vegetables, tangerines, table grapes and walnut crops (excluding hazelnuts).

 

 “The new grant program is another support of the US. Any innovation means to create more products for the first time, engage more market relations and export more agricultural products. We believe, that new project will be successful ”Giorgi Khanishvili said.

 

The State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, Alexander Motserelia noted, that new project is another important support, which helps entrepreneurs to receive a grant and launch or expand their activities.
