The report on the implementation of the Action Plan 2019 of the Rural Development Strategy of Georgia 2017-2020 was discussed at the Inter-agency Coordination Council of Georgia.

The Chairman of the Meeting, First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, George Khanishvili expressed his gratitude to the representatives of the European Union and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for their support and otlined the results achieved in the field.

The participants set focus on the importance of support and measures provided by international, donor and other partner organizations to reduce povery in the rural areas.Â

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Khatia Tsilosani spoke extensively about the 4th phase of the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD IV), she outlined that the program is already launched and drew her attention to the ongoing activities taken under the program.

At the meeting, under the frame of the Rural Development Strategy of Georgia 2017-2020, as part of the strategy, the reports on the implementation of the 2019 Action Plan were presented by representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Regional Development and Infrastructure, Ministry of Justice, IDPs from Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs, as well as the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.

The participants noted, that a great deal of the activities of the Action Plan 2019 have been implemented, which is a positive indicator.

The Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Davit Tvalabeishvili, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Mzia Giorgobiani, Deputy Minister of Justice Mikheil Sarjveladze, representatives of the EU Delegation to Georgia (EUD), UNDP and other agencies attended the meeting.Â
