The Memorandum was signed between the Ministry and USAID

The Memorandum was signed between the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Within the frame of the Memorandum, $ 3,5 million will be allocated for the fight against the Asian Stink bug.
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili and USAID Assistant Administrator in Europe and Eurasian Countries,  Brock Bierman signed the Memorandum.
" The United States Agency for International Development to provide a support for Georgia is of utmost importance. Georgia will receive an additional financial assistance to take measures against the Asian Stink Bug, which includes procurement of agricultural machinery (tractors, sprayers, feromones), also sharing of knowledge and providing training for the National Food Agency employees " - said Levan Davitashvili.
According to Brock Bierman, within the frame of the memorandum, the US will help Georgia to fight against the Asian Stink Bug.
"I have personally seen hazelnut plantations damaged by the Asian Stink Bug in western Georgia. We are ready to be actively involved in the planned actions and solve this problem "- said Brock Burman.
