The employees of the Environmental Supervision Department of the Ministry of Environmental  Protection and Agriculture along with the National Forestry Agency revealed 573 facts of illegal logging and transportation of timber from February 1 to February 28, 2018, including 35 cases of criminal offenses. 216 facts of logging and transportation of timber were revealed in Kakheti Regional Division, 21 facts in Adjara, 45 cases in Imereti, 10 facts in Guria, 26 cases in Racha-Lechkhumi Kvemo Svaneti, 61 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Regional Divion,  22 facts in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, 42 cases  in Shida Kartli, 55 facts in Kvemo Kartli region, 90 facts in Samtskhe Javakheti region.  In total, 1280 m3 of timber were obrtained illegally across the country.
