Signing Memorandum of Understanding

The Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and the Czech Development Agency, under the project "Strengthening Sustainable Management Capacity of Chemical Substances in Georgia".
The memorandum was signed by the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Georgia Tomas Pernitsky.
"Within the frame of the project, Georgia will receive significant assistance from the Czech Development Agency in terms of strengthening national capability and capacity of chemicals management in Georgia, this process also includes the creation of law that will promote harmonization of Georgian legislation with the EU legislation.
It is important, that the Czech Republic will assist in the fulfillment of sustainable development goals, which is the country's obligation within the EU-Georgia Association Agreement "said Levan Davitashvili.
"I am glad, that within the frame of the Memorandum we will be able to share our experience in sustainable management of chemical substances with Czech partners, which is a key factor for environmental protection. Also, I welcome the initiative of creating legislation in the field of chemical substances and our involvement in it in terms of supporting Georgian legislation in the harmonization process with the EU legislation " said the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Georgia Tomas Pernitsky.
