" In parallel with the fight against the spread of the new coronavirus, we keep working with all relevant persons providing household food security " stated the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili while meeting the chief executives of the large trading networks.

As discussed in previous meeting, the regulation of food supply and prices in the country was the primary subject of discussion. 

“Our goal is to avoid unreasonable price increases on the one hand and on the other hand, not to affect the stability of household food supplies. Daily monitoring is conducted to manage the situation and protect the interests of the population to the greatest degree. However, unlike many other countries, the supply chain trading system is fairly different in Georgia. We don’t have any prerequisite for an interruption of supply. The special headquarter created under the leadership of the Prime Minister is conducting continuous monitoring in the country ”Levan Davitashvili said.

 

Today it was reiterated, that despite the restrictions imposed under the threat of the spread of coronavirus, there is no  danger of food deficit in the country.

 

The Business Ombudsman, Mikhail Daushvili, Deputy Minister  of Economy and Sustainable Development Irakli Nadareishvili, Head of Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance,   Levan Kakava , Head the Municipal Inspection of Tbilisi City, Levan Jgarkava, the Head of the NFA, Zurab Chekurashvili and other Heads of the relevant agencies within the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture attended the meeting with the representatives of large trading networks.
