Public discussion of the draft law on " Changes to the Environmental Assessment Code"
The meeting was conducted at the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture to discuss the draft law on " Changes to the Environmental Assessment Code’’. The Deputy Minister, Nino Tandilashvili introduced participants with the changes made in the legislation acts.
The administrative authority will be assigned to the LEPL National Environmental Agency, which will further make decisions upon environmental issues, including service fees to determine. The ongoing reorganization process in the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture has led to the changes, due to which the Department of Environmental Impact Permits has been merged to the structure of the National Environment Agency, accordingly, the administrative authority will be assigned to the National Environmental Agency to make environmental decisions.
The representatives of the Ministry along with the executive bodies and NGOs attended the meeting.Â
