Solomon Pavliashvili visited warehouses of large importers to get familiar with an available food supply

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Solomon Pavliashvili along with the Head of the Department of Food and Rural Development, Tengiz Kalandadze visited warehouses of the major importers in Tbilisi.

“The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture regularly receives information on available food supplies and prices. At present , we have sufficient supply of food and essentials, which means that there is no danger of food shortages in the country. The population has no reason of bulk purchasing of much larger quantities of products, It is also important to avoid speculation in the markets that pushes up prices. Social responsibility is a vital part in current situation” Solomon Pavliashvili said.

According to the Food Warehouse Managers,  supplies are sufficient, moreover, the food security is ensured and runs smoothly for the benefit of the population. Ultimately, there are no problems related to the supply of products from major supplier countries (Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia and Ukraine).
Wholesale warehouses ‘’Dapna’’, Ltd ‘’Jibe’’and ‘’Mziuri’’, where edible vegetative oil is stored,  have more than enough products and expect for an additional cargo to arrive in the next few days.
