The Head of the Department of Food, Agriculture and Rural development of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Tengiz Kalandadze got familiar with the current food supplies in the wide trading networks.
“We should mention, that we have all types of foodstuff, thus entire supply chain runs smoothly in the country. Our citizens don’t face problems in the food security. However, customers should take into account, that, due to rising demand, food shortages are artificially created in the retail stores. We daily communicate with all persons engaged in the food chain and make endeavors to ensure uninterrupted supply of food in the market networks and support our customers not to face delays in purchasing products ”Tengiz Kalandadze said.
It is noteworthy, that representatives of trading networks have taken recommendations and guidelines from epidemiologists to the highest degree and started adhering all necessary safety / sanitary norms in the food facilities, which is crucial in protecting the health of the employees, as well as consumers.
